Raft Wars is a free browser game where you aim and fire turn-based shots to knock pirates off their raft and defend your treasure.
Raft Wars drops the fast first-person combat of the rest of this site for something slower and more deliberate: a turn-based artillery duel fought from raft to raft. You and your opponent trade shots one at a time, so every round comes down to reading the arc of your last shot and correcting the next one, rather than reflexes or twitch aim.
The setup is simple. Pirates and other enemies are after the treasure on your raft, and the only way to keep it is to knock them into the water or whittle down their health before they do the same to you. Between fights, coins earned from good shots buy grenades, rockets and other upgrades, so early rounds against weaker enemies double as a way to fund a stronger loadout for harder ones later.
It is a good change of pace on a site built around shooters that reward quick reactions: no lobbies, no respawns, just one aimed shot at a time.
Click and drag on your raft to aim, then let go to fire. The direction and length of the drag set both the angle and the power of the shot, the same way a slingshot works, so a short drag lobs a soft shot at a close target and a long drag sends one further and harder. After you fire, the enemy takes its turn, and play alternates until one raft is cleared out.
Coins from landed hits carry over between rounds and go toward grenades, rockets and other weapons that hit harder or cover more ground than your starting shot, which matters once the enemies get tougher and a single soft hit stops being enough.
Aim for a direct hit rather than a glancing one — a shot that lands square on the target knocks it back further and earns more coin than one that clips the edge.
Spend a round or two studying how your shots arc before committing coins to an upgrade; a grenade or rocket is only worth it once you can place a normal shot consistently.
Save some of your early coin instead of spending it all on the first upgrade available — a bigger weapon saved for a tougher enemy a few rounds later is usually worth more than a small one bought immediately.
Raft Wars is the one slow, one-on-one exception among faster company. Bullet Force is the site's own first-person shooter, built around real maps and either bots or a live lobby rather than turns. Smash Karts trades guns on foot for guns mounted on karts, so battles turn into arena racing as much as shooting. Combat Reloaded keeps things closer to Raft Wars in scale — a smaller, more contained shooter — but plays out in real time instead of one exchange at a time.
If you want something you can play in short bursts without needing quick reflexes, Raft Wars fits that better than anything else on the site.
Click and drag on your raft to aim, then release to fire. The direction and length of the drag set the angle and power of the shot.
No, you play against computer-controlled pirates and enemies, trading shots one at a time until one raft is cleared out.
Coins earned from landing shots carry over between rounds and can be spent on grenades, rockets and other stronger weapons.
Yes, the aim is a simple drag gesture, so it works with a finger on a touchscreen the same way it works with a mouse.
