Surviving Hard Mode in the Bullet Force Demo: Cover, Reloads and the Counter

Published · 1 min read

Spawn, press 2, then move

You start in the open with the six-shot revolver drawn and the AK-12 on your back. Press 2 before anything else. On Hard the bots see you from the map edge and their first volleys land, so the second thing to do is not to shoot but to walk: pick the nearest boulder and get a rock between you and the tree line. The hut is tempting but has two open sides.

Reload on your terms

The magazine count under the weapon icon is the only number that matters in a fight. A reload takes long enough for a bot to close half the map, so reload the moment a fight ends, not when the magazine is empty in the middle of one. With the AK-12 top up under ten; if it runs dry with a bot in your face, 1 brings the revolver up faster than R refills the rifle.

The counter lies by omission

'Enemies remaining: 20+' does not tick down while you hide. It only drops when you kill, so a quiet stretch means the wave is walking towards you round both sides of your rock. Peek left, peek right, and treat a bot appearing at close range as your fault for not looking.

Crouch is real cover

C drops your head below the boulder line and the bots lose line of sight. Crouch to reload, stand to fire, and strafe with A and D while you do; the bots aim at your last position and a sidestep buys the extra half-second that a Hard run is made of.
